‘Inglourious Basterds’ Teaser Trailer

I guess the teaser trailer was released a day earlier than we expected. It looks like this film is going to be the least stylized of Tarantino’s films, which, I kind of like. Sure, I’m a huge fan of his previous work, however I think a change of pace will be good for him and give him an opportunity to try some new things.

I love the cameos in the trailer: B.J. Novak (The Office), Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks), and even Eli Roth wasn’t that annoying. I think that putting so many recognizable actors into little roles like that will make the film more enjoyable to watch as well as give them the opportunity to expand on their acting range. As much as I hate Tarantino as a person, I have to say this trailer looks amazing.

Eli Roth + RZA = Kung Fu?

So what do Eli Roth and RZA have in common? No, Eli Roth isn’t a former member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Answer: They’re teaming up for The Man With The Iron Fist. Oh, and the project has been OK’d by Quentin Tarantino. So now that Eli has daddy’s permission, it looks like he’s actually going to attempt a martial arts film.

Now, I don’t know too much about martial arts movies, but the thought of Eli Roth helming a project like this seems like a God awful mistake considering his previous work (I’m looking at you, Hostel). I don’t know. Ever since he’s become Quentin Tarantino’s little buddy, he’s just sort of turned to shit and having Tarantino’s approval doesn’t really go as far as it would’ve back in the 90s when he was still putting out good films and wasn’t so self-absorbed. Actually, come to think of it, that’s probably why they get along so well.

All I can do is hope the entire movie isn’t an hour and a half of “Pancake Dennis” although I can’t imagine much else.
